Days 1 - 4

  • DAY 1 July 22nd - DEPART CHICAGO TO ACCRA - Our jet departs in the evening from the airport for our journey to Ghana. Din­ner and breakfast will be served during the overnight flights. (D,B)

  • DAY 2 July 23rd - ARRIVAL - You will be met on arrival by Starline travel and tour representative at the Airport and assisted with your bags and transfer to your hotel for overnight. (D)

  • DAY 3 July 24th - WREATH LAYING AND TRIBUTES TO THE ANCESTORS Depart for a wreath laying and tributes to the Ancestors. After that we will visit the Du Bois Centre Memorial centre for Pan African Culture. Drive through down-town Accra for a visit to the Kwame Nkrumah Park and have a guided tour into the life and work of this great African leader. Stop by for shopping at the Arts centre. Re­turn to the hotel via the "Black star square" where major anniversaries are held. Overnight in Accra (B,D)

  • DAY 4 July 25th - ACCRA/KUMASI - Today our tour will take us to Kumasi the seat of Asantehene driving through farming communities. Arrive and visit the Manhyia palace museum for a guided tour where you will see rare royal papraphineals and effigies of past Ashanti Kings and Prempeh II museum. Overnight in Kumasi. (B,D)

Days 5 - 8

  • DAY 5 July 26th - KUMASI/CAPE COAST - This morning we continue our tour of Cape Coast through the craft villages of Bonwire, Ntonso and Ahiwiaa for Kente, Adinkra and wood carvings. Arriving ear­ly in the evening in Cape Coast to join in the soft opening of Bazaar and Expo. Overnight in Elmina. {B,D)

  • DAY 6 July 27th - CAPE COAST/DURBAR OF CHIEFS/ OPENING CEREMONY - After breakfast we will join the chiefs and people of the Central Region at the Victoria park where the chiefs dress in their royal attires and carried in palanquins and various umbrellas and with their Asafo companies and their traditional African witchdoctors and priests and priestesses. Celebrate the official opening of the Trade Expo. Overnight in Cape Coast. (B,D)

  • DAY 7 July 28th - CAPE COAST INTERFAITH DIALOGUE After breakfast we join the discussion on Interfaith dialogue. And after­ noon spend the day at the Brenue Beach. Overnight in Elmina. (B,D)

  • DAY 8 July 29th - CAPE COAST/COLLOQUIUM • Today we will take part in the Colloquium at the University of Cape coast and a walk­ing tour of historical Elmina town. Overnight in Elmina. (B,D)

Days 9 - 12

  • DAY 9 July 30th - CAPE COAST/COLLOQUIUM • Colloquium continues from where it ended the previous day: Have a walking tour of the Ewe fishing village. Overnight in Elmina (B,D)

  • DAY 10 July 31st - CAPE COAST/KAKUM PARK/REVEREN­ TIAL NIGHT - Drive to the Kakum National park to experience a rare tropical rain forest and have an adventurous walk on the "canopy walkway" while enjoying a panoramic view of this tropical rain forest with different species of butterflies. We'll also learn about the cultural and social values of the trees to the people. In the evening we join the people to take part in the reverential night at the Cape Coast dungeon. Overnight in Elmina. (B,D)

  • DAY 11 August Ist - CAPE COAST/ASSIN MANSO/ACCRA Drive to Assin Manso to celebrate the EMANCIPATION DAY where two ancestor's remains were returned through the door of no return to be buried. Visit the slave river where the captives had their last bath before continuing to the dungeons of Elmina and Cape Coast. Return to Accra for overnight. (B, D)

  • DAY 12 August 2nd - DEPARTURE - Spend the morning for pri­vate activities and last minute shopping. Leave for the airport for your departure.Arrival home the same day. (B)
